Eligibility: Call for informationIntake Procedure: Must meet income guidelinesHELPS low-income populations achieve self-sufficiency by offering the following services:COMMODITY SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD PROGRAM distributes government-purchased surplus food commodities to income-eligible families with children, 0-6 years; women who are pregnant, breastfeeding or have given birth in the last 12 months; and persons, 60 years or olderEMERGENCY ASSISTANCE, where donated funds are used to assist low-income people (with proof of need) with small emergencies; utility bills and rent are occasionally paid by BVCA PartnershipFOOD PANTRY, where community groups and individuals donate funds to purchase perishable items which are distributed to families/individuals in emergency situations; paper products and non-perishable food are also donatedHOLIDAY PROJECTS, where volunteers, community groups and local businesses donate materials, food, toys and skills for seasonal holiday projects for low-income families; provides food packages and allowances to purchase clothes, shoes, coats, and household goodsHOMEBUYER EDUCATION provides training on the home buying process. HOMELESS ASSISTANCE offers services for homeless individuals and families include food pantry, homeless shelter, clothing, referrals and locating permanent housingHOUSING OWNERSHIP ASSISTANCE provides down payment and/or closing cost assistance to income-eligible families to enable them to purchase a home; eligibility is 80% median incomeHOUSING REHABILITATION offers low and moderate income homeowners low interest loans to rehabilitate health and safety needs of their older homesPROJECT FOCUS works one-on-one with individuals/families using family development/case management model by assessing needs, linking to available services and follow-throughPROJECT FIRST where homeless families with children participate in a housing and supportive services project for up to 24 monthsRENTAL HOUSING provides government subsidized private rental housing as well as low cost/below market rental housing to income qualified peopleTHRIFT STORES provide clothing, shoes, coats and household goods to families in need and to the public for small handling feeWEATHERIZATION provides assistance to secure homes for hot and cold weather; to be eligible, families must submit pay stubs from the last three months, and provide a legal description of the home or obtain the landlord's permission if the home is not owned by the family; the family must reside in the home for at least one year, and provide heating bills before and after weatherization to BVCA PartnershipHours: Monday-Thursday 9:00a-4:00p; Closed Friday
