The Winooski Housing Authority was created in 1967 to provide quality housing for low and moderate income families and individuals. WHA operates a Public Housing Program with 238 units and a Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program.
In 1993, WHA became the managing agent for the Chittenden Housing Corporation which at the time owned 19 rental units in the Lakeside area of Burlington. With the 2006 purchase of The Courtyard by Chittenden Housing Corporation, WHA took on the management of an additional 100 units.
