Last-Modified: 2024-01-25 20:34:20

Valley Assistance provides rental assistance to qualified households meeting service area, income and documentation requirements; information, referral and resources provided. All applicants must schedule an appointment so that the MAP (Monetary Assistance Program) team can provide one-to-one customer service to help individuals, families and seniors build their safety net. The MAP team is currently partnered with the Sahuarita Food Bank and the Good Shepherd Church to provide information, referral, SNAP assistance and prescreening at the Food Bank on the first and third Thursdays from 2-4 PM; where there are 5 weeks in a month, outreach is second and fourth Thursdays from 2-4 PM. Documentation requirements are Driver's License or a Picture ID: If this does not have your current address, we will need something with your current address on it. Birth certificates and social security cards for everyone in the household. Written Certification of any money coming into the household in which you live for the past month. Pay stubs for a month for everyone in the household who works. Social Security notification and SSI Payments for everyone in the household that receives this service. Alimony or child support amounts received. Benefit letters for food stamps for everyone in the household that receives this service. Unemployment benefits for everyone in the household that receives this service. The official benefit award letter must state the amount you will be receiving this year. If you have recently been hired or are changing jobs and have no pay stub, bring a letter from your employer stating how many hours a week you will be working and how much you will get per hour. Bring any bills you wish assistance with (must be current bills). If you need assistance with rent, bring a letter from your landlord that includes the amount owed. Have your landlord sign it, and include his/her mailing address and phone number. Also, we need a W-9 from your landlord in order to process your application for rent. Please contact them directly to obtain more information.
