Last-Modified: 2024-01-18 00:55:23ECHO's Rental Assistance Program assists Alameda County renters with move-in costs or delinquent rent due to a temporary financial setback.
If you are a family with children, elderly, permanently disabled, emancipated foster youth, a veteran, a victim of domestic violence, or a pregnant woman in her second trimester or later, and are:
Seeking assistance with security deposit: You must be an Alameda resident for at least 6 months and you must have located affordable housing and been approved for it; or
Seeking assistance with delinquent rent: You must have some notice from the landlord stating that you are behind on your rent

Mission Statement: ECHO's ultimate goal is to promote equal access in housing and provide support services which would aid in the prevention of homelessness and promote permanent housing conditions. "The primary objectives and purposes of this corporation shall be: To provide education and charitable assistance to the general public in matters relating to obtaining and maintaining housing generally, and improving their social, economic, familial and educational conditions generally; To promote fairness and equality of opportunity for all persons regardless of race, color, creed, national origin, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, or HIV status in the areas of education, employment, housing and public and private services; To provide rental assistance, housing assistance, tenant/landlord counseling, homeseeking, homesharing, and mortgage and home purchase counseling."

I am a single mom with a disabled 21 year old and 8 years old daughter . I was under SSA assistance . Since my program is ending by September i have to rent a house . I really need an intimidate assistance . Which ever help counts .
I'm living in a hotel in Oakland is hard to pay the room everyday it's a headache it's me a my husband and my son we get ssi also we need help finding us a nice places that we can afford we need to be together again my son visit is brother and sister everyday because he dont feel comfortable in the area we in to busy not a places for kids pleases we need your help thx .....
what is the use of all this programs and none in here are helping the people. its a waste of time with all the money that is giving by the government to help the people of california and yet none of these places are lending a hand to this people. disgusted
