Lease Assistance (Rent Assistance) programs help prevent low-income families facing eviction from becoming homeless by assisting with a one month rent payment or by assisting homeless families with move-in costs. Limited funds are currently available for the following Cities: Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks. Please allow up to two weeks to process application. The following Documents and Verification are required for application:- 3-Day Notice or Unlawful Retainer- Completed Family Budget- Driver's License or State I.D. for all Adults- Social Security Cards for all Adults- Social Security Cards or Medi-Cal Cards for Children- Check Stubs for Earned Wages - (4 pay periods)- Check Stubs for Unemployment- Check Stubs for Workman's Compensation- Check Stubs for State Disability Insurance- TANF/Cal WORKS Notice of Action- SSI/SSA Proof of Income/Bank Statements Showing SSI/SSA Deposits. - Documentation of Child Support** It is important to note that lease assistance can only be granted to those applicants for which assistance will stop eviction, not delay eviction. **All documentation must be submitted before application process can be completed. For Lease Assistance inquires please call 805-4000, ask for "Lease Assistance Department". Office hours are Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm.
