I live in East Haven. Awhile back a lawyer had applications go to you. Is there any list for Section 8 anywhere in Connecticut that I can get on a list for? I am 55 years old on SSA. I really need a place to call my own. Can you please let me know if there's any help for me?

Recently I filled out an application for rent assistance. Shortly after filling out the paperwork, I was told the monies were no longer available to anyone. Is there any truth to this? Or was someone not being honest with me? Honestly, I feel as though the person who told me this, collected the money on my behalf then lied about its availability to be able to collect rent from me also. In a sense, double dipping.
