The mission of Northwestern Illinois Community Action Agency is to diminish the causes and effects of poverty by helping people identify and obtain the resources to achieve self-sufficiency in order to build stronger families and communities.
The Illinois Low Income Heating & Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides assistance with utility costs, during the time frame of October 1st - May 31st or until funds are exhausted for income eligible households.
Assistance will include a one-time utility payment for heat and electric service and payments will be sent directly to the energy provider on behalf of the eligible household.
