I need assistance to pay rent. I have been out of work since March 1 and have not income, no savings and no means to pay rent, bills, or food. I applied for unemployment in March but there is a problem with my application and it is 'pending' therefore I have recieved no unemployment unsurance benefits, It could be that I am not elegable because I work as an independent contractor, I do not know. I have written the NCDES several letters
