These benefits include, but are not limited to:
Essential foodClothingShelter and household furnishingsTemporary rental assistance or back rent or mortgage paymentsUtility payments (such as heat, water, electric)Transportation to search for housingMoving expensesEligible persons include those who are homeless or at immediate risk of becoming homeless, and those who have experienced a substantial loss of:
HousingFoodClothing or household furnishings due to fireFlood or similar disasterEmergency Assistance is limited to 12 months. However, extensions may be granted under certain hardship conditions, with specific limitations.

Good Morning, Will like to know if I qualify for rent assistant help.
I'm in receipt of section 8 voucher As you know they only cover the first month rent not security deposit how can I get help in security deposit of 1,500 for the and what ever I have to resident portion of the rent how can I get help

Hello! My name is Roxann. I have been struggling with finding any type of assistance and I have worked so hard to save up to get an apartment. It is in Paterson, NJ. I used all the money I worked so hard for in a hotel while I tried to find an apartment. Well it is $1,750 to move in, with security deposit, but I only have $1,400 after I get my paycheck tomorrow. They are letting me move in thank god. They want the remaining $350 next Wednesday. So all my money has gone into getting this apartment. I really need help with furniture. I do not have a bed, air conditioner, microwave, table, ANYTHING. I could really use any type of help I can get. Even if it's help with some of my rent.I am very grateful for any help.
