Utility AssistanceThey can help you avoid shut off of utilities by assisting with a payment to your utility company. Funds for this service come through government contracts and have strict guidelines about qualifying. A waiting list starts in the fall for assistance through the LIEAP (Low Income Energy Assistance Program). Housing AssistanceCan help you avoid eviction for non-payment of rent, get housed through assistance with entry costs, or avoid foreclosure through assistance with mortgage payments. Prescription AssistanceHas limited funds to assist with filling a prescription for yourself or a family member. You will need to contact the pharmacy and get a written statement of the cost of the prescription and the person for whom it is written. Bring this information to Community Sharing during regular business hours. Assistance for People Without HousingIn addition to special food boxes for people who have no cooking or cold food storage facilities, they have limited funds for showers, laundry, and propane. Come to the office during regular business hours with your identification. Other AssistanceFirewood is available during the winter months . When you obtain a voucher your will need to call to make an appointment. Special holiday food boxes and a holiday gift program are available in December. Advance sign up is required to participate in holiday programs.
