The Jesse Tree provides assistance for extremely low - to - low income persons who are at risk of becoming homeless by providing one-time rent assistance and case management.
Eligibility Requirements:
Demonstrate the need is short term and emergency in nature.
Have a lease.
Have received a pay or quit / eviction notice with no court date scheduled.
Have verifiable income.
Have three consecutive months of non-delinquent rent in rent record.
Live in Ada County.
Participate in a case management plan.
Have landlord participation.
Housing meets
Housing Quality Standards (HQS)
A home inspection is required.
Process for Receiving Assistance:
The applicant is screened according to established criteria.
The applicant applies and verifies place of residence and income.
The property owner (landlord) is contacted to verify information and participation
The applicant participates in a case management plan with a Licensed Social Worker.
A housing inspection (HQS) is completed to ensure families are living in a safe environment.
If applicants qualify, rent payment is mailed directly to landlord.
The timeline for assistance is two to four weeks.
Three, six and twelve months after services have ended, a follow-up call is made to the beneficiary to verify they are still housed and working toward financial stability.
