I applied for assistance for rent earlier this year , probably around February or March, after being in an accident that cause my to loose my job while I recovered from a broken collarbone. Despite being approved for rental assistance I have had to constantly fight to get the correct paperwork for the amount I have already been approved for. After going between this facility and my apartment complex for at least four months I am still having to go back and forth and am due to move out in a few weeks. I am unsure where the ball has dropped but feel as though I was ignored for months until i got fed up and had to call and DEMAND to be serviced. The service and the way I have been stressed out is completely ridiculous. I am so thankful for whatever help I can get but honestly feel like I have been jerked around. I now risk having a horrible mark on my rental history because I counted on someone’s word and offer for help when I’m reality it seems I was never going to get it due to “paperwork complications.” If you are approved make sure you call them every single day multiple times a day because it seems like that was what I failed to do.
